All Appointments - Before your Appointment
Failure to attend your appointment due to not following any of our listed program rules will result in a forfeit of your exam fees. It is every customer's responsibility to ensure they are prepared for their appointment by reviewing and adhering to the requirements in our Exam-taker Handbook.
All Appointments - Appointment Walkthrough
We suggest launching your exam 15-30 minutes before your appointment time to ensure you have adequate time to complete the pre-exam checks and connect with your proctor. Note that your appointment will not start before your scheduled start time, even if you join early and are ready to launch.
PSI's website only reliably works in the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers.
- Log in to our exam portal
- Install the Secure Browser
- Launch your exam
- Follow prompts to prepare your computer for your appointment
- You must have administrative rights on your computer as you will probably need to end or uninstall software that conflicts with the Secure Browser
- Make sure you close all virtualization applications (Docker, VMware, etc.) and their respective background services/daemons (vmms)
- Follow prompts to verify your testing environment
- You will need to scan your room with your camera
- Follow prompts to verify your identity
- Your webcam must be able to focus on the text for the proctor to verify your identity
- If you have problems getting your camera to focus, try eliminating light sources that could cause glare on your ID for this step
- If your camera still won't focus, try holding your hand behind the ID (think beauty YouTubers displaying products to camera) to give your camera a more substantial surface to focus on
- Wait for your proctor to connect
- If your proctor does not connect to you within 30 minutes of your appointment's scheduled start time, try connecting to the in-browser support team
- If PSI's support team is not able to get you into your appointment within 30 minutes after your appointment, disengage from their support team and submit a ticket to us
- Enter and take your exam
- Follow all instructions from the proctor to the best of your ability
- Finish and submit your exam
- Closing the exam window before viewing your results may delay the sending of your results and credential emails. If this happens, your results and credentials (if applicable) will be sent within 1 day
- Receive your exam result table onscreen, and via email within 1 day
- Your credentials will be delivered to your email on file within 1 day
Behavior Requirements
Your proctor will be on the lookout for worrying behavior during your exam. If they suspect you of capturing exam material or using outside resources during your appointment, they have the right to terminate your appointment with or without warning. Be sure to follow all proctor prompts to avoid this.
- Talking, mouthing words, or communication with anyone other than your proctor while testing is prohibited
- You may not exit the camera's view during the exam
- You may not use electronic devices (cell phone, smart watch, etc) during the exam
- You must be fully dressed
- PSI requires all employees and exam takers to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Exhibiting abusive behavior towards a proctor via chat or other candidates will result in your exam being terminated and will be reported to HashiCorp
- You are prohibited from reproducing, communicating or transmitting any test content in any form for any purpose. Doing so will result in the disqualification of examination results, and may lead to legal action
